PROGRAMME
SEED Programme is inspired by the Reggio-Emilia philosophy and Inquiry-based Projects.
- Provides time and opportunity for children to explore both natural and intentional environments to promote inquiry, problem-solving, independence, and socio-emotional intelligence..
- Provides an environment that serves as a ‘third-teacher’ which helps to promote autonomous learning. Educators put their intention and goals in the environment for children to explore.
- Inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, the Seed programme focuses on children as protagonists of learning, each demonstrating and communicating a Hundred Languages - a hundred ways o expressing, a hundred ways of exploring, a hundred ways of being.
Inquiry-based Projects encourage children to explore their interests and investigate questions, problems, concepts, or ideas relevant to the children, families, and the community. These projects involve deep engagement and investigation which entail:
AUTHENTICITY.The inquiry study emanates from a question, problem, or exploration that has meaning to children.
ACADEMIC.Children explore concepts to build knowledge that leads to deep understanding. As children explore their environment and engage in dialogues with educators and peers, they develop habits of mind that encourage them to wonder and ask questions: causation, evidence (How do we know what we know), viewpoint, patterns and connections, etc.
