PRIMARY

Merlion Primary School is an SPK school, formerly known as Merlion International School, which offers the Cambridge Curriculum for ages 6-11 years old.

At the end of Primary School, the Exam-Based students will sit for the Cambridge Primary Checkpoint exam in which the students' performance will be assessed in three main subjects: English, Math, and Science. Strength-Based and Flexi Learning students may join the exams as well if they wish.

The school offers three

programmes of study:

EXAM-BASED,
STRENGTH-BASED
& FLEXI LEARNING.
These are guided

by the 5 Pillars:

THE HYOUMAN PROJECT,
MINDFUL ME, LIVING CIRCLE,
THE QUEST, & POWER SUBJECTS.

It is compulsory for the students enrolled

in each programme to attend 4 of the pillars,

with an exception for the power subjects.

Subjects can be taken in MS as supplementary subjects or can be taken outside
The students are exposed to various activities
which develop and enhance their creativity, potential
and critical thinking. They are led to develop their
design thinking skills to identify problems and discover
solutions using the design thinking process – empathies,
define, ideate, prototype and test.

Co-Curricular Activities

WRITERS GUILD CLUB

Offered to P4 - P6 students who are interested in writing. The focus of this club is to write articles about the school events and reflections which will be published in our school’s digital book.

ICT ENRICHMENT

Offered to P1 - P6 students who are interested in digital technology. The focus of this club is to let the students be aware of the pros and cons of using social media along with learning how to address various concerns related to this issue.

THINKTATION

Offered to P4 - P6 students who are interested in expressing their thoughts and ideas through mind-mapping. The focus of this club is to gather and process information to be presented in a new form using different techniques; diagram, mindmap, infographics etc
