Preparing students for the world of standardized testing to ensure students’ achievement in standardized testing represents the excellent academic standard they have been exposed to.

CURRICULUM

The Exam-Based curriculum prepares students to take standardized testing in two curriculums:

INDONESIAN NATIONAL CURRICULUM

CAMBRIDGE INTERNATIONAL CURRICULUM

Upon finishing Primary School, students sit for the Ujian Sekolah as well as the Cambridge CheckPoint exams. Upon finishing Secondary 3, students take the Ujian Sekolah and upon finishing Secondary 4 students take the IGCSE exams. Finally, at the end of Pre-University 2, students take the Ujian Sekolah and the A-Level exams.

With highly-qualified teachers, students learn the basic competencies stated by the curriculum through the aid of high-quality materials, and past exam papers for thorough exam preparation.

WHAT ARE THE ACTIVITIES SUPPORTING THE EXAM-BASED PROGRAMME?

The exam-based students are exposed to a wide variety of activities, ensuring the development of holistic learning: areas such as CCAs, field trips, learning journeys, Pillars classes, team building and practical work are covered by the programme. Through these activities, students are provided with the facilities to explore and experience learning both inside and outside the four walls of the classroom.

Students at Merlion are also encouraged to participate in outside academic competitions such as ICAS, VANDA, AMO, SASMO and more.
